World Industrial Design Day @ UiTM Shah Alam

National Design Centre will be organizing the 2nd "World Industrial Design Day" on the 29th June 2009 in conjunction with the World Industrial Design Day which was launched by the International Council of societies of Industrial Design (Icsid) last year.

The first "world Industrial Design Day" was first celebrated on the 29th June 2008 to recognizing the profession of industrial designer to be observed the world over. throughout 2007, a series of event are being hosted in collaboration with various Icsid members around the world to celebrate the inception of the organization on 29th June 1957.

These "Icsid 50" event are testament to the industry milestones of the past fifty years as well as to the contemporary vision and forward-looking direction of the profession in the years to come. The creation and implementation of the "World Industial Design Day" will reflect on both the importance of Industrial Design in our world, as well as to organization that has played defining rol in the development of the profession.

Therefore, NDC will be organizing series of events such as Design Discourse, Experimental construction, Clay Modelling, Memorable collum, Strecthed -out Design and exhibition by NDC and industry

All are invited to this memorable day to celebrate the "World Industrial Design Day" on the 29th June 2009 and the name of this event is "Industrial Design: "Product of Human Creativity"


List of main event during World Industrial Design Day:

Design discourse- Invites all of the design from all around Malaysia and discussing issues regarding about malaysia industrial design issues

IDSMal launching- IDSMal stand for Industrial Design Society of Malaysia. It's actually created to make industrial designer from all around malaysia gather and discussing issues

E Design conference 2010 - Launching of International Conference on design and the theme will be "humanizing design"

Strecth Out Idea- This design will be done by collecting as many ideas as possible from the visitor during industrial design day

Experimental construction- This event will involve participant mostly from primary and secondary school

Nextus Furinture Design Competition 2009/2010 - Open to all of art and design cources universities. The theme for this competition will be "Humanizing design. This competition is organized by NDC, EFE Expo Sdn Bhd and MFEA (Muar Furniture Entrepeneur Association)
